He told supporters that his delegates (the 24 he earned during primaries) and other supporters will attend the GOP convention in St. Paul in September “without disruption.” He also announced that space has been reserved at the Williams Arena at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis for a rally on September 2 while the GOP convention is being held across the river in the other of the Twin Cities.
Having withdrawn from the race for the GOP nomination, Dr. Paul also announced the formation of the Ron Paul Campaign for Liberty. The new organization is designed to continue spreading his message of “freedom, sound money, non-interventionism, and free markets.” He expects members of the Campaign for Liberty to “make our presence felt at every level of government” through lobbying and through identifying and supporting candidates who will run “against the empty suits the party establishments offer the public.”
