John Birch Society CEO Exposes Trade Schemes on Alex Jones Show

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) have not been much in the news lately, which might tempt one to believe that these massive “trade” agreements have dried up and blown away for lack of political support. That would be a dangerous assumption says Arthur R. Thompson, CEO of The John Birch Society and author of International Merger by Foreign Entanglements, recently published by the Society.

Thompson, who is currently on a speaking tour to promote the book, warns that the TPP and TTIP negotiations are still proceeding apace. However, they are flying under the radar in stealth mode, with the compliant assistance of the mainstream media, which dutifully keeps the American public distracted from the profoundly destructive effect these agreements would have on our constitutional Republic and our entire way of life.

Thompson, who was on tour in Texas, stopped in to Austin on August 20 for an in-studio radio-video interview on the Alex Jones Show, broadcast nationally over the Genesis Communications Network (GCN) and worldwide over the Internet. Reporter David Knight, sitting in for Alex Jones, discussed not only the details of the TPP/TTIP, but also ranged over topical issues such as the ongoing riots and mayhem in Ferguson, Missouri, and the executions and terror by the ISIS terrorists in Iraq.

The TTIP and TPP pacts have the backing of not only the Obama administration, but also the International Chamber of Commerce and U.S. Chamber of Commerce, as well as many other high-powered business groups representing mainly global corporatist interests. The major multi-national corporations, Thompson pointed out, have been given special “stakeholder” status (along with the activist big labor unions and environmental groups) which accords them privileged access to, and participation in, the official TTIP/TPP negotiation process, even while the American public and our elected representatives in Congress are kept in the dark.

The administration and the TPP/TTIP lobby make a lot of promises about “transparency,” says Thompson, but notes that the entire process has been wrapped in secrecy and is totally corrupt. As was the case with the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) agreement, the trade lobby is keeping the real nature of the beast hidden, and then plans to rush it through Congress next year, as soon as they think they have enough momentum and support ginned up for it. It’s all about “economic integration” of the United States with the countries of the Asia-Pacific and the European Union, Thompson notes. And political integration follows economic integration. “That is precisely what they have done with their integration process in Europe,” he observes. The nation states of the European Union have all but irretrievably lost their sovereignty and independence to an unaccountable central regime in Brussels. The TTIP would shackle the United States with the same process, eventually eviscerating completely our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence.

David Knight played news video footage of Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Gen. David Petraeus extolling the supposed virtues and inevitability of the merger of the United States with Canada and Mexico into a regional entity called “North America” or the “North American Union.”

And what comes after the North American Union, the TPP and TTIP, Knight asks, before answering that the next step is “consolidating these regional economies into a global regime.”

Thompson pointed to concrete examples of this consolidation/integration process, noting that if one looks at globalist “American” corporations such as “Boeing, Lockheed, and GE, you’ll see that the integration of the process of manufacturing is very high. For instance, we cannot produce an airplane of any size in this country any longer without the Chinese and the Russians supplying the parts, particularly titanium parts. We see that Lockheed is working with them on nuclear power.”

The even “more disturbing aspect is that they’re moving their R&D [Research & Development] there,” says Thompson. “General Motors has even said that they’re going to be doing all of their R&D now in China. Boeing does. Lockheed does.”

This process, that has been going on for decades, of transferring American manufacturing, technology and knowledge to our avowed enemies (or potential and likely enemies) is not being driven by the free market, as the advocates of NAFTA and TPP/TTIP falsely claim. It is completely politically driven and has been designed to destroy America’s economic independence, so that we are no longer able to produce the things here we need to feed, clothe and defend ourselves. The ultimate goals of those who are pushing this agenda, Thompson notes, can be summed up as: world government and no religion except devotion to the State.

Fortunately, Thompson remarks, there is still time to defeat the TPP/TTIP agenda, just as we defeated the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) initiative for a North American Union, and the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) for a hemispheric union, both of which were aggressively pushed by President George W. Bush and the same powerful lobbying groups now promoting the TPP/TTIP. To accomplish this more Americans must become aware of the serious threats these agreements pose to our jobs, our businesses, our families, our freedom — in short, to everything we hold dear — and they must become involved in educating their fellow citizens and letting Congress know that we expect them to vote “thumbs down” on these agreements.
