Walz, Frey Claim Minneapolis ICE Shooting Not Self Defense Despite Video

Minnesota’s two top Democrats are peddling a false narrative about the fatal shooting of a woman who tried to run down Immigration and Customs (ICE) agents in the street today.

Far-left Governor Tim Walz and equally far-left Mayor Jacob Frey claim that the ICE agent was not defending himself.

Frey ordered ICE to leave the city and state, while Walz claimed that state authorities, who permitted Somali fraudsters to rob taxpayers of hundreds of millions of dollars, will get to the bottom of the matter.

ICE claims the agent had good reason to shoot the woman: She was trying to murder him.

ICE deployed 2,000 agents to the Somali-controlled city after recent reports that Somali fraudsters were running phony daycare centers. That scam was piled atop others involving welfare subsidies. Somalis robbed the Small Business Administration as well. A federal prosecutor said the Somalis were involved in “industrial-scale” fraud.

Videos of the attempted murder from several angles all show the same thing. At about 10:45 a.m. today, an ICE agent approached the driver-side door of the Honda Pilot and attempted to open it, as another stepped in front of it. Trying to escape an apparent arrest, the woman accelerated toward the agent in front of her SUV. He shot and killed her.

“Today, ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when rioters began blocking ICE officers and one of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them — an act of domestic terrorism,” the Department of Homeland Security reported on X:

An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots.

He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers.

The alleged perpetrator was hit and is deceased. The ICE officers who were hurt are expected to make full recoveries.

This is the direct consequence of constant attacks and demonization of our officers by sanctuary politicians who fuel and encourage rampant assaults on our law enforcement who are facing 1,300% increase in assaults against them and an 8,000% increase in death threats. 

Democrats routinely call ICE agents Nazis, Gestapo, and terrorists.

Reaction

On Truth Social, President Trump said the “woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense.”

“[T]hese incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE Agents on a daily basis,” Trump continued:

They are just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE. We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate! 

Not so, say Walz and Frey.

“I’ve seen the video,” wrote self-described “knucklehead” Walz on X: 

Don’t believe this propaganda machine.

The state will ensure there is a full, fair, and expeditious investigation to ensure accountability and justice.

Unhinged subversive Frey told ICE to “get the f**k out of Minneapolis,” claiming that ICE was “trying to spin this as an act of self-defense. That is bulls**t.”

“This was an agent recklessly using power … that resulted in someone dying, getting killed,” Frey told reporters:

The narrative that this was done in self-defense is a garbage narrative.

In a prepared statement at the mayor’s website, Frey said “we are demanding that ICE leave the city and state immediately. We stand by our immigrant and refugee communities — know that you have our full support.”

Strangely, though Frey claims that the ICE agent was not defending himself, he reminded far-left, hate-ICE protesters that they “are not allowed to be on freeways, block streets, throw objects, cause violence, participate in criminal acts, enter on private property (including commercial spaces) without the owner’s permission, or use fireworks or weapons. Unlawful activity will not be tolerated.”

Frey expressed similar sentiments on X.

2,000 Agents

Among the more than 150 illegal aliens whom ICE arrested in one day in Minneapolis are these convicted criminals, with whom Frey and the city, as he said, stand “rock-solid.”

Four Laotians:

• Mong Cheng — homicide, vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, and assault;
• Kao Yang — sex assault, procuring a prostitute, lewd acts with a minor;
• Thai Vang — fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, felony larceny, aggravated felony robbery, drunk driving; and,
• Tong Xiong — lewd or lascivious acts with a minor, sexual assault, kidnapping, assault, armed robbery.

Three Ecuadorians:

• Tomas Espin Tapia, caught and released during the Biden administration — warrant in Ecuador for murder, warrant for sexual assault in Connecticut. Ordered removed in February;
• Julio Desiderio Naula-Jara — sexual assault, domestic violence, drunk driving; and,
• Carmen Mireya Alarcon Rivera — dope dealing.

Others:

• Liberian Blayon Lawrence Yuoh — rape, robbery, sexual assault, and more;
• Vietnamese Hoang Xuan Nguyen — rape, child molestation, drunk driving;
• Salvadoran Jozias Natanael Carmona-Pena — child sex abuse; and,
• Mexican Venustiano Cardoso — dope dealing.
