Fauci to Leave NIAID in December Under Cloud of Lies and Deception
Anthony Fauci

At long last, the man who misled the nation and the world about the origin of the devastating virus that killed the old and sick and wrecked the nation’s economy will leave us alone.

Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), has announced that he’s leaving the job he has held for the last 40 years.

Fauci’s coda as chief of NIAID includes lying about the origin of the coronavirus, which was created by federally forbidden experiments in a lab at the Wuhan Institute for Virology, with U.S. tax money funneled from Fauci’s parent agency, the National Institutes for Health. Fauci’s outfit oversaw the research.

Fauci also tried to put the kibosh on another hard truth: The virus escaped from the lab in Wuhan.

His departure, set for December, can’t come too soon. He has wrecked his agency’s reputation, and could well be indicted for perjury before a Senate committee if Republicans retake Capitol Hill in November’s midterms and decide to pursue him.

Unity Needed

In a statement that is operatic in its gall, Fauci told The Associated Press that the country must unite behind “science,” meaning scientists like Fauci:

If ever there was a situation where you wanted a unified approach and everybody pulling together for the common good, it would be when you’re in the middle of a public health crisis. As a physician and a scientist, I and my colleagues have the responsibility to do what’s correct, what is science-based.

Good points, except that Fauci and those responsible for fighting the China Virus didn’t follow the science. When reports proved that the virus was only killing the fat, the old, and the sick, including those who were vaccinated, Fauci and his “scientists” continued to push for vaccines.

When reports showed that masking doesn’t work, Fauci and his “scientists” continued to push for masking.

When reports showed that the vaccines were causing heart damage, killing young athletes, and not working, Fauci and his “scientists” continued to recommend “boosters.”

Poetic irony and justice: Fauci contracted the Asiatic pathogen himself, as did President Joe Biden and myriad White House staffers, members of Congress, and Capitol Hill staffers.

Fauci Lied

Just weeks ago, in testimony before the Senate Homeland Security Committee’s Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Spending Oversight, Richard Ebright — director of the Waksman Institute of Microbiology at Rutgers University — was unequivocal. Ebright testified that Fauci lied about the origin of the virus, and questioned why federal authorities overlooked the obvious: The grantee that channeled U.S. subsidies to fund the research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China violated U.S. policy.

The China Virus “may have entered humans through US-funded gain-of-function research and lapses in US oversight of gain-of-function research,” Ebright said, adding that U.S.-funded research at WIV was, in fact, gain-of-function work covered by U.S. public policy:

Although this research met the definition of selected gain-of-function research … that should trigger immediate cessation of work, and although the NIH was informed of project objectives and results, the NIH failed to flag the project as being covered by the policy, failed to pause the project as required by the policy, and failed to stop the project as required by the Terms and Conditions of the grant.

But Ebright also said Fauci lied about the nature of the research when he, Fauci, denied the obvious:

The statements made on repeated occasions to the public, to the press and to policymakers by the NIAID director, Dr. Fauci, have been untruthful. I do not understand why those statements are being made because they are demonstrably false.

Ebirght said the same thing in a long Twitter thread when a report surfaced about the grant in question. Fauci, former NIH Director Francis Collins, and a third NIH bureaucrat “lied to Congress, lied to the press, and lied to the public,” Ebright tweeted. “Knowingly. Willfully. Brazenly.”

But lying about the research itself isn’t the only black mark on the end of Fauci’s long career. Internal agency emails released in January showed that he lied about how the virus went global. Though Fauci said the lab-leak hypothesis was a “conspiracy theory,” which the leftist media dutifully repeated, he knew that top scientists suspected it leaked from the lab in Wuhan.

At more than $400,000 annually, Fauci is the highest-paid federal employee.
