Kaukab Siddique, an English professor at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, asserts that the Holocaust was a hoax and declares that Muslims should “rise up against this hydra-headed monster which calls itself Zionism.” However, though officials at Lincoln University have acknowledged Siddique’s disturbing remarks, they assert that they cannot take action, as Siddique is tenured.
Over the Labor Day weekend, Siddique spoke at an anti-Israel rally in Washington D.C., declaring: "We must stand united to defeat, to destroy, to dismantle Israel — if possible by peaceful means. Perhaps, like Saladin, we will give them enough food and water to travel back to the lands from where they came to occupy other people. For the Jews, I would say see what could happen to you if the Muslims wake up."
Siddique added that “Zionism is racism,” and that “it is obvious to us that Zionism is genocide.” He continued, “It is obvious to us that Zionism is terrorism. But somehow the man living in the White House does not seem to know that. His silence is grim and dismal.”
At the same rally, Muslim and leftist radicals were captured on video marching with flags representing the terrorist organization Hezzbolah.
Ray Locker of the Investigative Project on Terrorism addressed Siddique’s comments. “This is something he has said at similar events over a period of at least a dozen years as far as we can tell.”
The Christian Broadcasting Network has also uncovered e-mail exchanges wherein Siddique called the Holocaust “a hoax,” claiming that there is “not even one document” proving it happened. In similar exchanges, Siddique asserts that Jews have “taken over America by devious and immoral means.”
Additionally, Siddique has advocated for two convicted terrorists connected to al-Qaeda, including the cleric behind the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
While Siddique denied CBN’s request to appear on camera for an interview, he e-mailed the network denying charges of anti-Semitism: “My speaking out … conforms to the ideas and principles that founded Lincoln University…. When I refer critically to the Jews, I am referring to the current leadership of the State of Israel and to their major supporters, not to the Jewish race as a whole.”
However, such an assertion is diametric to the declarations made by Siddique at the Labor Day rally in Washington, D.C.: "The Koran says, drive them out from where they drove you out…. There’s no question of just removing the settlements. These settlements are only the tentacles of the devil who resides in Tel Aviv."
CBN reports, “Despite a history of anti-Semitic statements, Siddique maintains a job teaching literature at Lincoln University, and sits on at least two school committees.”
Lincoln University is the nation’s oldest historically African-American college, which has received almost $200 million in Pennsylvania state money for projects since 2003.
While officials at the university declined interview requests by CBN, the school’s executive vice president emphasized that they in no way supported Siddique’s comments on Israel, adding that Siddique is both tenured and permitted freedom of speech.
This is of course not the first time that tenure has permitted an individual to engage in controversial behavior without consequence.
Tenured professor Ricardo Dominguez of the University of California in San Diego has been captured saying, “In terms of immigrant rights … the question is to move the kind of anchor of civil disobedience within the kind of over-fetishized notion of a single sovereignty of a nation but to look at a larger trans-society that is emerging that also should have global rights.” Professor Dominguez has also openly called for the dissolution of the United States.
It was Dominguez’s invention of GPS cellphones equipped with applications to assist illegal immigrants across the border that helped him acquire tenure in the first place. To boot, his cellphone project was funded by taxpayer dollars.
Similarly, Ron Gochez, a social studies teacher in the School of Public Service and Social Justice at Los Angeles’ Santee High School, has openly spoke out against America at protests. At a 2007 protest held at UCLA, Gochez addressed America’s immigration problems:
We are revolutionary Mexican organization here. We understand that this is not just about Mexico. It’s about a global struggle against imperialism and capitalism. At the forefront of this revolutionary movement is La Raza. We will no longer fall for these lies called borders. We see America as a northern front of a revolutionary movement. Our enemy is capitalism and imperialism.
In 2002, Gochez published a etter to the ditor at SDSU’s Daily Aztec, entitled “The Jewish-owned media continue to blind the masses with propaganda to keep them in fear.” While the letter has since been removed from the site, responses to it remain.
Gochez presented a lecture at the Second Annual Association of Raza Educators Conference entitled, “How to be a teacher AND an Organizer: Putting Revolutionary Theory into Practice!”
Gochez is also cited at the Workers World Party website.
If the permanent presence of educators like Siddique, Rodriguez, and Gochez doesn’t make a case against tenure, nothing will.
