Alex Newman of TNA interviews Chris Sevier of De Facto Attorneys General about legislation he and his organization are working on. Sevier discusses the Stop WOKE Act, which protects students from being indoctrinated with Critical Race Theory. Noting that Black Lives Matter is a secular-humanist religion, Sevier states that the bill prevents public schools from promoting CRT under the U.S. Constitution’s Establishment Clause and individual state constitutions. Furthermore, the bill gives parents standing to sue schools for promoting CRT and allows them to recover attorney’s fees.
Next, Sevier discusses other bills that he and his organization are working on, including the Social Media Accountable Censorship Act (S.M.A.C. Act), which prevents censorship by Big Tech companies; and the Save Our Children Act (SOCA), which requires retailers of internet-enabled devices to block inappropriate content to children that enables human trafficking. Sevier notes that all of these bills have been written for all 50 states and are designed to withstand judicial review. For more information, and to see other proposed legislation, click here.
