Radical transgender activists gathered at the Oklahoma state Capitol on Monday, chanting “trans lives matter” as they protested proposed bills that would restrict gender-related “healthcare” this legislative session.
“The legislative session began in the state on Monday, and lawmakers are expected to consider the Millstone Act, which would ‘prohibit Oklahoma doctors from providing gender transition procedures or referral services relating to such procedures to anyone under the age of 26,'” reported Human Events.
Oklahoma state Senator David Bullard (R) recently filed Senate Bill 129, or the Millstone Act, to prohibit gender transition procedures for anyone under the age of 26 and authorize the state’s attorney general to enforce the act. Doctors convicted of violating the law would be guilty of a felony and subject to license revocation.
About 150 people protesting the Millstone Act (referring to Matthew 18:6 — “but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it is better for him that a heavy millstone be hung around his neck, and that he be drowned in the depths of the sea”) also had set their sights on Senate Bill 252, which would prohibit anyone under 18 from undergoing gender reassignment surgery and medical treatment in Oklahoma. A number of protesters reportedly displayed trans flags and held placards with phrases such as “we are not a threat so stop making us a target” and “stop healthcare bans on trans.”
Local news channel KFOR reported that about an hour before Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt (R) took the podium to share the State of the State address, protesters were chanting “trans lives matter” in the main atrium of the Capitol, as well as shouting “protect trans kids” and “we are Oklahoma.” They also appeared on balconies on the floors above chanting “This is our house.”
Stitt said in his speech, “Send me a bill that bans all gender transition surgeries and hormone therapies on minors in the state of Oklahoma.” He had “previously signed bills that ban biological males from competing in women’s sports, and require sex-segregated bathrooms in school to remain sex-segregated, regardless of a student’s stated gender identity,” reported Human Events.
“Trans” protester Benjamin Patterson and Doran Walters, an Oklahoma University student, told OU Daily why they were protesting the legislation. “Gatherings bring attention to trans issues and inform lawmakers that they have constituents who oppose these bills. Allies need to do everything they can,” Walters said.
Patterson added, “It’s vital to show legislators that the trans community will live their lives regardless of the ‘anti-trans rhetoric’ coming from the Oklahoma Capitol building.”

In response to Oklahoma’s move to protect children from the medical impact of gender ideology as well as save women’s sports and protect women’s sex-segregated spaces, a trans activist and lawyer, Brittany Novotny, is forming a new political action committee in the state to try to block the legislation. Called the Securing Liberty PAC, Novotny claims that bills protecting children run contrary to the GOP principle of limited government….
“We’re not going to beat these bills by rehashing the same far-left rhetoric and playing victim,” Novotny said. “We’re going to defeat these bills by finding common ground with Republicans in the Legislature and helping them to see this isn’t necessarily the winning issue they think it is.”
These protesters have the right to express their opinion on legislation that they disagree with. However, lawmakers are right to try to establish legal boundaries to protect innocent children from the horrid practice the trans activists desperately want to normalize. The Oklahoma Senate press release quoted Bullard as saying:
Four short years ago when I received the honor to serve in the Oklahoma State Senate, I could not have imagined that it would be necessary to file a bill to protect children in our state from being legally sexually mutilated, yet we find ourselves in that very situation. Surgical and chemical genital mutilation has been occurring in our great state, and it must be stopped. We have a sacred duty to protect our children from those who wish to do them harm. Senate Bill 129 is designed to protect our children from those who want to benefit financially at their expense. Child abuse is a felony in our state and mutilating a young person’s genitalia should be viewed no differently. The Millstone Act will hold those who perform child mutilation accountable by making such activity a felony. Those guilty of such a heinous crime will be both legally and financially liable.
The press release also noted that Bullard “chose the age of 26 to account for scientific findings that the brain does not fully develop and mature until the mid- to late 20s with the prefrontal cortex, the part responsible for critical skills like planning and controlling urges, developing last.”
Once a strongly Democratic state, Oklahoma is now a solidly red government trifecta, as Republicans hold majorities in both chambers of the state Legislature and the governor’s office. The legislation restricting gender-related “healthcare” will most likely pass and gain Governor Stitt’s signature.
