Choudary’s assertions have been so extreme that his group, Islam4UK, has been banned from Britain.
The Blaze notes that Shariah4America is "seemingly modeled" after Choudary’s Isam4UK. The website for Shariah4America reads, “We hereby call upon the Muslims in the U.S., particularly in New York, Michigan, Chicago, and Washington D.C. to take lessons from their Muslim brothers and sisters in North Africa and the Middle East and rise to implement the Shari’ah in America.”
The website includes a picture of the transformation of the White House under Muslim control, advocating it be turned into a Mosque.
The site also encourages a new American constitution, one grounded in Shariah law:
On 3rd March 2011 From 1 pm to 4 pm (local time), at Pennsylvania Avenue, outside the White House, the Muslims will let the tyrant Barack Obama and the American people know that a new constitution beckons the US called the Shari’ah and that this worldwide revolution will see it implemented inshaa’allah (God willing) very very soon.
The date for Thursday’s march, March 3, was no accident. According to its organizers:
The 3rd of March is overlooked by many as an insignificant day of the year. However, this particular day should not be overlooked by the Muslims without serious contemplation. On this day, in 1924, the Khilafah (Islamic State) was abolished by Mustafa Kamal Attaturk with the help of the British and European collaborators. It was a catastrophic day when the light of Islam was dimmed and its implementation removed from our lives, leaving the Ummah bare and defenceless against the onslaught of the Kffar.
For the organizers, “the Khilafah is the means to implement Islam with all of its values, outlook, culture, and legislation.”
Choudary told the Daily Mail that he will be at Thursday’s march, along with Abu Izzadeen and Sayful Islam. The Daily Mail writes, “Izzadeen is the hate preacher who caused fury last year when he called British soldiers ‘murderers’ the day he was released from jail after a three-and-a-half year sentence for inciting terrorism.”
Choudary also told the Daily Mail that the rally is being orchestrated by the Islamic Thinkers Society, a New York-based Muslim group. The group’s website features a depiction of the White House with a Shariah flag flying above (jpg), just as Choudary promised. Underneath is a caption that reads, “Islam — The Future of America.”
Likewise, the website features a diagram of an Islamic caliphate, and its various components (pdf).
The Blaze notes that the radical speakers may all face difficulty entering the United States: “Still, it’s unclear if the three extremists will be allowed to enter the country, as even tourist visas require applicants to answer if they have ever supported terrorism.”
Fox News’ anchor Gretchen Carlson questioned Choudary about this very obstacle in an interview last week:
Carlson: Do you actually believe you will be able to get in this country? Will you be able to answer the questions on the application accurately? Because the tourist visa will require you to answer these questions-‘Have you been involved in acts of terrorism or have you planned to commit crimes in the United States?’ How will you answer those questions?
Choudary: Look, I’ve never been convicted of any criminal offense or convicted of any terrorist alleged offenses.
Choudary went on to emphasize what he sees as the necessity of bringing Shariah Law to the United States, and claimed that it would better benefit the country if it was implemented. Carlson concluded the interview saying, "Unfortunately or fortunately, you probably will be allowed into this country, and you’ll probably be allowed to go before the White House on March 3rd in protest, and that’s what makes this country different from Shariah Law."
