One of the headlines in his section on the economy boldly announces that he and Joe Biden "plan to create good-paying jobs." He isn’t referring to creating more high-paying government jobs. One of his proposals is to "identify and invest in the most compelling advanced manufacturing strategies," using money from an "Advanced Manufacturing Fund" that will be created. He also plans to "create" five million new jobs by investing $150 billion tax-dollars into "clean energy." Accompanying the proposals for job creation will be a "regulatory system for the 21st century," which will include giving the Federal Reserve "greater supervisory authority," according to the "blueprint."
Other sections of the document include plans for children. For the unborn, Obama’s plan states that "he will make preserving a women’s right to choose under Roe v. Wade a priority as president." He also boasts that he has consistently received scores of 100 percent from pro-abortion groups. For babies who are not aborted as well as young children," the blueprint states that the new administration will launch a "Children’s First Agenda to provide "care, learning and support to families with children from birth up to five years old." This will be accomplished through his new "Children’s First Agenda." Another platform of his plan for education includes the creation of "a new American Opportunity Tax Credit that will make tuition at the nation’s community colleges completely free." Activities for kids outside of the classroom will also receive new federal dollars: "Obama and Biden will double funding for the main federal support for after school programs." What else will Obama and your federal taxes do for kids? According to the Blueprint for Change, "Obama and Biden will establish a new program to identify and train the next generation of farmers."
Global-warming, or and "climate change" as it is now called, did not escape Obama’s blueprint either. According to the document, the new administration will "Implement an Economy-wide cap-and-trade program to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions 80 percent by 2050." What this will mean for the economy and even the future of America isn’t addressed. He also wants the whole world to join us by pushing the United Nations’ Framework on Climate Change, in addition to creating a "Global Energy Forum."
Owing to the sheer number of proposed new agencies, programs, subsidies, taskforces, and bureaucracies in this "Blueprint," only a select few are addressed in this article. Where the exorbitant amounts of money needed to fund all these new expenditures will come from, on the other hand, is rarely addressed, although Obama frequently makes reference to getting rid of the "tax-cuts for the rich." What this will inevitably mean according to experts is more taxes, more debt, more deficit spending, and more inflation, as money is printed to make up for the shortfalls. Obama seems to recognize that such a course is not wise: in his blueprint he chastises President Bush, saying, "Under President Bush, the federal debt has increased from, $5.7 trillion to $8.8 trillion, an increase of more than 50 percent." But his plan to solve the problem seems to be simply tax "rich" people more heavily, and of course, corporations, who will in turn pass those tax-increases on to their consumers. There may indeed be change coming, but it seems like it will simply be an acceleration of more and more of the same "change" we have been getting for decades: bigger government and less freedom — a change in the fundamental principles on which our Republic was founded — only this time it may proceed at an even quicker pace than previously imagined.
