The U.S. Supreme Court has already struck down state laws that criminalized sodomy. However, the legal consequences of the UN document could extend beyond decriminalization to providing special rights to homosexuals as a victim group.
There has been consternation that the UN document would go beyond the Supreme Court decision in superseding the rights of states to govern according to their own (the people’s) will. Some sections of the declaration could have the federal government deciding on matters that fall under state jurisdiction. In particular, the terms “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” could create serious uncertainty in the law. But the Obama administration has interpreted things differently.

Obama wanted to sign the document to prove, says the State Department, that the United States supports human rights for all, and is in the process of notifying Congress of his intent. State Department spokesman Robert Wood issued a statement saying how pleased the United States is to join other countries in condemning “human rights violations based on sexual orientation and gender identity.”
Wood added, “The United States is an outspoken defender of human rights and critic of human rights abuses around the world. As such, we join with the other supporters of this Statement and we will continue to remind countries of the importance of respecting the human rights of all people in all appropriate international fora.”
The UN declaration has absolutely nothing to do with supporting human rights for all, or it would mention the lives of the unborn. It is about promoting the homosexual agenda globally. The UN would dictate to every country, regardless of its culture and religions and traditions and morals, the treatment homosexuals receive, possibly to the detriment of the rest of society. Specifically, it would seem to create a special class of citizens. This puts under assault principles of government in the United States: the Constitution’s guarantee of equal protection under the law, and states’ rights. The impartial terms to which all who seek redress under the law would now be stacked in favor of participants of perversion. Homosexuals could receive preferential treatment just because they are homosexuals. And knowing this, will homosexuals be able to publicly flaunt their immoral acts with impunity?
Muslim countries have totally rejected the UN declaration, fearing the legitimizing of the very deplorable acts of pedophilia and sodomy still punishable by death in over 70 mostly Muslim countries, as has the Vatican.
