FULL EXPOSURE: NeverTrump Neocons Kristol and Schmidt Reach Out to Biden, AOC

How deep is the hatred of the NeverTrump neoconservatives toward President Trump? Pretty deep. Former GOP guru William Kristol is angling for an advisory role in what he hopes will be a Biden-Harris administration, come January 20. The Lincoln Project’s neocon co-founder Steve Schmidt is sending love tweets to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, suggesting they join hands to become “the left and right flanks of a broad coalition.”

As we noted recently (“National Review’s Neocons and The Bulwark’s Bidenistas: Reviling Trump, Rejoicing in Biden”), the neocons at National Review, The Bulwark, and The Dispatch have been nurturing a giant-sized, hysterical hatred for Trump since he triumphed in 2016, defying their expectations and prophesies. Ditto for the Lincoln Project, the coterie of former “Republicans” (and their Democrat pals) that blew tens of millions of dollars over the past year to smear President Trump and Republican incumbents and challengers in House and Senate races. Incredibly, while endorsing and working for a Biden-Harris-Pelosi-Schumer lock-hold on our government, they have the audacity to insist that it is they who are the real, “principled” conservatives.

Kristol, who was the co-founder and editor-at-large of the now-defunct Weekly Standard, continues his rabidly anti-Trump rants at The Bulwark, where he is editor-at-large. Although they have been outcasts in the Trump-era GOP, Kristol and his clutch of Beltway NeverTrumpers continue to enjoy privileged entre to the Fake News opinion cartel. They can be seen as regulars at CNN, MSNBC, PBS, CBS, etc., and in the op-ed pages of the New York Times and the Washington Post. They are the “moderate conservatives” (read “Democrats who sound like conservatives”) that the media elite believes should be running the Republican Party. Considered pariahs in the Trump GOP, the neocons hope to regain their former pedestals as the controlled opposition and lead the party back to its “responsible” center. Which is to say, they hope to purge Trump’s base and replace it with Old Guard GOP globalists of the Bush-Romney-McCain-McConnell-Collins stripe.

Kristol says he and his neocon comrades could be a “potentially important part of the overall Biden governing coalition.” “Never-Trumpers can help the Biden administration govern successfully” Kristol is reported as saying in a December 17 Politico article.

Helping Biden Break Down the Borders

Immigration/amnesty is one area mentioned where the neocon lobbyists might be of assistance to Biden. “If Biden tries to pass an immigration bill, for instance, they could help by touting provisions popular with Republicans and moderates,” Politico reported. Kristol explained his vision for possible ways of boosting the Biden’s open borders agenda this way: “It could be ads. It could be private meetings. It could be talking to business leaders or to … members of Congress.”

Biden, whom the media have already crowned as “president-elect,” has a long history of supporting what can only be called “mass migration,” not immigration, as it has been traditionally understood. Immigration is the process through which people legally are admitted into a nation; migration is the process by which people illegally invade and take up residence in a nation. As Barack Obama’s veep, Joe Biden helped promote and implement some of the most destructive mass migration surges into the United States.

Thus far, Biden has not been expansive on many of the particulars of his migration vision, but Reuters has described it in six points (paraphrased below, with quotes from the Reuters story):

1) legislation for an amnesty, characterized as “a pathway to citizenship for the estimated 11 million immigrants living in the country illegally”;

2) rescinding Trump’s travel bans on travelers from 13 countries, most of them either majority-Muslim or African nations;

3) likely ending of Trump’s “travel bans that block the entry of many people coming from Brazil, China, Europe and Iran in order to prevent the spread of the virus”;

4) curtailing Trumps restrictions on H-1B visas for “skilled foreign workers” and “specialty occupations,” apriority for the Big Business/Big Tech lobbies that want to replace Americans in their IT workforces with cheaper foreign workers;

5) dramatically increasing the annual refugee ceiling to 125,000 from the Trump limit of 15,000; and

6) ending construction of the border wall initiated by President Trump.

(Note: The Reuters story paraphrased and quoted above, typical of the “mainstream” news, posits an estimate of 11 million illegal aliens residing inside the United States. This is pretty much the same figure that has been bandied about for more than three decades, even as the stream of illegal entries has continued to rise. However, a report of the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General in February 2020, cited a new study from researchers at Yale and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology estimating the total could be closer to 22.1 million.)

Nothing in this Biden migration agenda is cause for concern for Kristol. He and his neocon brethren have been pushing much the same agenda within the Republican Party for years, serving as publicity enablers for the amnesty/migration projects of George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, Jeb Bush, John McCain, Mitt Romney, and other RINO pols. Ditto for expanded trade relationships and economic convergence with communist China, expanded regional trade blocs and agreements, continued outsourcing of America’s crucial industries and jobs, the Green New Deal, etc. He wants to “help the Biden administration govern successfully,” including successfully eviscerating our immigration security, which President Trump has taken significant strides toward restoring.

Schmidt’s Lovestruck Tweets to AOC

While Bill Kristol is obsessed with regaining Beltway relevance, even to the point of prostituting himself to Team Biden, fellow neocon Steve Schmidt appears to be more obsessed in hooking up (perhaps in the carnal sense?) with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. At least that might be fairly read into his, uh, strange stream of saccharine tweets to the Marxist bartender-cum-congresswoman.

Schmidt’s twitter spree on December 11 suggesting an alliance (or perhaps dalliance is more apropos) began with this tweet: “I would like to officially reach out to @AOC on behalf of the @ProjectLincoln in defense of democracy. We disagree on many issues and that is ok in our view. Btw, we don’t look down on waitresses. We admire them. We are all the types of guys who always tip at 50% or more.”

In a stream of multiple additional tweets, he repeatedly announces his respect and admiration for her “conviction, integrity, and guts.” “Our hand is open,” he tells AOC, but “We have no open hand for the nationalists, white nationalists, fascist proud boys, militia groups, conspiracy theorists ect. [sic]”

Schmidt’s passionate public missive continues: “@AOC perhaps you look at us and see something that is not so. We do not know each other and perhaps we should. Maybe even it is the case that the future of the country Depends on us…. Maybe it is the case that we are stronger together.”

In another heartthrob gush he blurts: “You are a living example of democracy and the importance of faith and belief in the system. We are one election away from losing this country to Autocrats. We stand with you against that. We hope you will stand with us also. God bless America.”

Here is a partial stream of Schmidt’s sweet tweets to AOC:

Neocons Fully Expose Themselves

The 50-year-old Schmidt may have the hots for the 31-year-old Democratic Socialist firebrand, but so far his amorous cyber advances appear to have gone unrequited. No return tweets yet from AOC.

No one familiar with Schmidt’s history, particularly over the past four years, should be surprised that this former “Republican strategist” is now attempting to confect a pact with the sex symbol of the Bolshevik wing of the Democrat Party. As we have detailed in The New American previously (here, here, and here), Schmidt and the Lincoln Project grifter gang have raised $78 million from the anti-Trump zealots, which they have used to stuff their own pockets and to produce vicious attack ads targeting not only President Trump but also crucial Republican House and Senate seats. Some of their race-baiting advertising efforts read as if they had been written by the inveterate hate propagandists at the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Schmidt and his Lincoln Project chums are also big proponents of LGBTQ “rights” and appear to have no problem with the baby-killing program of Planned Parenthood and Team Biden. Like CNN’s Trump-hating legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, who obscenely exposed himself during a Zoom video conference call, the neocon ringleaders are going full-frontal nude for Biden and socialism. It’s taken a long time for the neocon hucksters to fully show their true colors, without even a fig leaf of protective coloration. But now only the incurably gullible and willfully blind will be able to again believe their honeyed words and accept them as “thought leaders” of the conservative movement.
