Greenpeace Heretic CO2 Good Greenpeace Anti-human Video

Dr. Patrick Moore, one of the founders of the militant ecology movement in the 1970s, is now considered a “heretic” and a “traitor” by many of his former radical colleagues. But Moore, who considers himself a “sensible environmentalist,” says he parted ways with Greenpeace and others of their ilk when “they turned anti-human and anti-science.”

Dr. Moore was a keynote speaker at the Heartland Institute’s 9th International Climate Conference, a gathering of many of the world’s top climate scientists and researchers who challenge the increasingly discredited claim that human-generated CO2 is causing a global-warming crisis that requires massive government intervention and unprecedented regimentation of all humankind. The Heartland conference was held July 7-9 at the Mandalay Bay Casino-Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

For many years Dr. Patrick Moore was one of the most well-known faces of Greenpeace, the radical environmental organization famous for its “direct action” confrontations over whaling, seal hunting, nuclear testing, and other issues. He was one of the original activists who manned the fishing boat called The Greenpeace to protest nuclear bomb testing and one of the organization’s most photographed and interviewed leaders. Dr. Moore was one of the co-founders of Greenpeace and one of its earliest presidents. He later served as president of Greenpeace Canada and was a longtime director of Greenpeace International.

“CO2 is the most important food for all life on earth.”

In a video interview with The New American at the conference, Dr. Moore noted that Greenpeace and many other Big Green environmental groups have become “anti-human” and view people as the enemy of nature, rather than as part of nature.

The New American has reported repeatedly on this malicious aspect of environmental zealots, reproducing many of the outrageous statements by environmental activists, celebrities, politicians, and population control advocates who favor drastic reduction of the planet’s human population. One of the key issues that caused Dr. Moore, a biochemist, to leave Greenpeace was its campaign against chlorine. Moore points out that the addition of chlorine to drinking water and swimming pools has been one of the most important contributions to public health and safety in the history of the world, saving hundreds of millions, if not billions, of people from horrible deaths caused by water-borne bacteria, parasites, and viruses.

Among the many important points Dr. Moore makes in this interview is that rather than fearing carbon dioxide, people should recognize it as a vital, natural, beneficial component of our ecosystem. As a scientist, he says, he has seen no evidence to support the extravagant claims of the alarmists that CO2 levels are impacting climate, and, in fact, the CO2 levels have historically been much higher, with no evidence of harm, but much evidence of benefit.

“The optimum level of CO2 for plant life is 1,500 parts per million (ppm),” Moore notes. “Plants on planet Earth today are starving for more CO2 in terms of what they would like to have to grow at an optimal level.”

“We also see, he further states, “even [with] the small amount that we have produced through our fossil fuel consumption, that the entire planet is getting greener — that there is more vegetation today than there was just 50 years ago, because of the fertilization effect of carbon dioxide. If there is one thing that people need to know, who are concerned about carbon dioxide being a negative, it is that CO2 is the most important food for all life on earth.”
