In an interview with the British newspaper the Guardian, Hansen said: “When you are in that kind of position, as the CEO of one of the primary players who have been putting out misinformation even via organisations that affect what gets into school textbooks, then I think that’s a crime.”
The global-warming prophet of doom is considering personally targeting members of Congress who have what he considers to be a poor track record on climate change in the coming November elections. He told members of the House committee that he is now “99 percent certain” that the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere has already risen beyond the safe level. Hansen did not explain why his opinion has changed since 1999, when he had temporarily backed off from his dire assessment, stating: “The forces that drive long-term climate change are not known with an accuracy sufficient to define future climate change.”
