The trans agenda continues to be marketed to children — and taxpayers are footing the bill.
In Ohio, an organization that sponsors a program tailored to teaching minors to become drag queens has received public funding.
As Breitbart News reports, the group, Colors+ Youth Center, is based in Fairview, Ohio, and organizes monthly tutorials for grooming children into drag queens. For example, the youth center is working on a joint event with Drag Queen Story Hour Cleveland which, per the Colors+ Youth Center website, will include a “drag performer reading an age-appropriate book with positive themes for LGBTQ+ youth highlighting inclusivity, creativity, and love.”
Drag queens the center calls upon to mingle with kids include Sassy Sascha, Rhett Corvette, Veranda L’Ni, and Zoey Zegai to read to children.
Also, on a monthly basis, the center puts together “monthly drag tutorials by a local drag performer who teaches the fundamentals of drag (makeup, costume design, and performance).”
The center’s own website notes that its activities are partly “funded by Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.” This is notable because Cuyahoga Arts and Culture is a taxpayer-funded organization. The website for the organization states that it is a “strong steward of the public’s money, investing nearly $12 million annually in organizations that bring arts and culture to life in our communities.”
The Cuyahoga Arts and Culture’s website further reads:
Cuyahoga Arts & Culture (CAC) is one of the largest local public funders for arts and culture in the nation, helping hundreds of organizations in Cuyahoga County connect millions of people to cultural experiences each year. Cuyahoga County residents created Cuyahoga Arts & Culture in 2006 when they approved a tax on cigarettes to support arts and culture in our community.
Since 2007, CAC has invested more than $207 million in more than 436 organizations both large and small, making our community a more vibrant place to live, work and play.
Cuyahoga Arts and Culture’s $12 million-a-year tax funding comes from a cigarette tax which voters approved in 2015.
Other drag events geared toward children in Ohio include a “Drag 101” class for teenagers offered by the Delaware County District Library in Delaware, Ohio, in 2019.
The Left is also intent on having taxpayers cover the cost for the transgender program — even for those who have been convicted of the worst crimes.
In California, for example, a man who identifies as a woman is set to receive taxpayer-funded breast augmentation surgery — even though he sits on death row for the murder of two infant children.
Jason Michael Hann already received “gender-reassignment” surgery in order to change his identity to “Jessica Marie Hann.” He was convicted of the murder of two of his own children — a 10-week-old daughter and a six-week-old son.
While sentencing gave Hann the death penalty, he was saved from execution by an executive order signed by Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom, which suspends capital punishment and places a stay on all scheduled executions. In 2021, Hann was allowed to be transferred to the women’s general prison population after a brief observation period.
Now, Hann is awaiting further use of taxpayer dollars to complete his new look by getting a breast augmentation procedure.
That case is reminiscent of a 2020 one in which a federal judge ruled that a Wisconsin man imprisoned for raping his own daughter should receive a “gender-reassignment” operation at the taxpayer’s expense.
U.S. District Judge James Peterson ruled Mark Allen Campbell is entitled to “gender-reassignment” surgery and should be moved to a women’s prison while he awaits his transition. Campbell was sentenced to 34 years in prison in 2007 after he pled guilty to first-degree sexual assault against his daughter; he now identifies as a transgender woman under the name Nicole Rose Campbell.
The judge’s decision came after Campbell began requesting reassignment surgery in 2013, leading to him sue the Department of Corrections (DOC) in 2016 on the basis that they were violating his Eighth Amendment rights, subjecting him to “cruel and unusual punishment” by not giving him the operation he desired.
Of course, it isn’t just states and localities sponsoring the trans agenda. The U.S. military has spent more than $15 million to treat transgender troops since 2016. This figure includes $11.5 million for psychotherapy and $3.1 million for surgeries.
The Pentagon under Biden has also committed to using taxpayer dollars to cover the travel costs of service members who are either getting an abortion themselves or accompanying their partners who are.
Under the plan, troops are to be given up to 20 weeks into the pregnancy to provide their departments with notification and request abortion-related travel.
Allowing immoral, socially corrosive behavior like transgenderism and abortion is bad enough. But the Left isn’t content with the average American merely tolerating it. They want us to both praise it and actively participate in it — including by paying for it out of our own wallets.
