Musk: “Twitter Was Simply an Arm of the Government”

Elon Musk joined the Joe Rogan podcast this week, and during the interview described Twitter as “simply an arm of the government.” The head of Tesla, SpaceX, and now X — the social media network formerly known as Twitter — also said that the fact that Twitter was government propaganda “was not well understood by the public.”

According to the tech titan, censorship on Twitter was aimed squarely and aggressively at conservatives because the network was “completely controlled by the far-left.”

“There was basically oppression of any views that, even I would say, [would] be considered middle-of-the-road,” Musk said. “Certainly, anything on the right, and I’m not talking about far-right, I’m just talking mildly right.”

Rogan’s interview with Musk began with an interesting discussion about manufacturing the Tesla Cybertruck, and evolved into talking about the history of mass manufacturing, a milestone development that Musk traced back to Henry Ford.
