The New American’s Christian Gomez sits down with author and contributor to The New American magazine Joe Wolverton to discuss his online article titled, “Mark Levin: Con-Con Is Only Way to Save America.” In this interview, Wolverton addresses recent statements made by neoconservative radio talk show Mark Levin is support of Convention of States (COS) Project/Action and their efforts to convene an Article V convention.
Of Levin’s remarks that the only way to save the country is not by watching TV or reading columns, Wolverton says that the real way to save America “is by actually reading the words of our Founding Fathers” in order to see what they actually believed and heeding their wisdom.
Wolverton fact checks Levin’s misrepresentation of history, explaining: “I think the most shameful thing that Levin, COS, and other similar organizations do, is they take advantage of the widespread ignorance [about] the Constitution and by doing so they can convince otherwise well-intentioned and patriotic people to support an idea — this convention of states — that roundly the varsity squad of Founding Fathers warned would be, as Madison said in his own words, it would be fatal.”
